Gmail threads

have changed the way I think about email. I now will reply multiple times to an email (just like a chat thread) and expect the side-effect to be raising the priority of the email in the inbox. Not (as I was just reminded) several copies of an email in the user's inbox. Or - friend spam.

I'm still waiting for the "messaging communication meld" to happen. I can't wait until all these different frontends, email, im, RSS, FB, Orkut, Blogger, ... are indexed and searchable in my datastore and simultaneously available online as well. And if we could just openID the front end of it too. If I'm going to share on FB, I may as well manage the content myself, the way I do on blogger.
